The TempleThe Temple of the Inner Circle is a state and federally recognized, public Church. It has been in existence in its present form since 1990 and is well known and documented.
Over 4,000 people have attended its classes since its inception. The Temple will teach anyone who walks through its doors and is willing to learn, many of which don't have any knowledge of the Craft or the occult.
The classes teach the religion of the Craft along with practical applications of using your own power to affect change in your own life (also known as spell work!).
Lady Morgana is the High Priestess of the Temple. Lord Mordred is its High Priest. Although they both come from an extremely old coven they realized that far too many people were searching for a place to learn without wanting to join a coven.
Those that do want a coven format get it here along with the flexibility of it being public.
Together, Lady Morgana and Lord Mordred teach strong, basic lessons in the Craft with their time-tested, first year curriculum. Due to the strict guidelines that Lady Morgana and Lord Mordred had to follow, they were able to obtain, reformat, and teach true knowledge that was readily available.
"A Witches Bible Compleat" by Janet and Stewart Farrar is one of the best books about the basics of the religion of the Craft, so it became the required first year text. Every first year student studies a chapter a week and is then tested in class. Teachers ask specific questions and expect specific answers.
If the class doesn't have all the answers, they repeat the chapter. The classes move as fast as the slowest student. This ensures that everyone who wants the knowledge gets it and it also aids in building comradeship between the students and the entire Temple (much like in a coven).
The students are also given spell work (which is mandatory), lectures, videos, audiocassettes and essays as homework. Acquisition of altar tools, memorization of invocations/dismissals, and knowledge of the ritual are also part of the work.
By the end of the year and a day (minimum) the students who initiate have a complete foundation of the Craft, its religion and work, beneath them.
The Temple of the Inner Circle is a working Temple as well as being a teaching one.
Eight times a year, on the Saturday nearest the Sabbat holiday, the students congregate outdoors in the mountains to celebrate the holiday and to honor the gods. They put into practice all that they have been learning.
The students who have passed through the first year program, and the second year program, can and do perform Wiccanings, Handfastings, and Requiems. These second degree Initiates, who are still in their own classes working to obtain their third degree initiation, are also the Priests and Priestesses of the higher Sabbats; Bealtaine and Samhain.
All students of the Temple of the Inner Circle are expected to shine - to present a positive image to society (and to the occult community) of just how good a witch can be. Those that do stay with the Temple will find constant learning, striving and polishing.
Unfortunately, there are many who don't stay. Perhaps they didn't agree with the teaching methods; that's a good thing. Everyone knows that there is not just one way of doing things. The Temple's methods are not for everybody, it is not the only way, but it is the way the Temple teaches and the students are expected to adhere to it's methods and regulations.
Every student is able to leave whenever they want. The Temple never expects anyone to give an oath or binding. There are no contracts.
Students are encouraged to "ask their leave of the Temple" if they decide not to stay. An instructor will never lie to any student.
The Temple of the Inner Circle's goal is to produce the most knowledgeable witches of the Craft community. If this is what you want to be...then you've found the right place.
