Your Money’s Worth

Why would anybody join this Temple? It sounds like so much WORK! This doesn’t sound like most of the ‘covens’ any books have told me about!

True.

Most covens ‘operate’ unseen, in somebody’s living room. That is the way witchcraft has survived to this day. But in these ‘enlightened’ times, in this beautiful country, we have the freedom to publicly express what we believe, and constitutional protection of our brand of religion.

You could call it your bill of rites.

We operate in public view every day. All of our local, state and federal authorities know us. So do the local TV stations, newspapers, etc. We are ‘legitimate.’

Our Temple, by its mere existence, educates and enlightens the public on the subject of Wicca and tolerance. We are the ‘point of contact’ for all questions from the media on the subject of witchcraft and magic.

This is progress that all of our students and members can be proud of - we are changing the world!

Aside from this idealistic reason, why come to a Temple to learn, rather than from any book on the New Age shelf at a bookstore?

Most students say they want ‘structure’ or ‘discipline.’ These students will get it – we have a set curriculum for the year, for the sabbats, for the class, etc.

Those seeking discipline will not be disappointed either – our ways are time-honored and proud. When one falls short of our expected standards, we have amusing ways of dealing with them. This is not an NEA run college or high school – you earn your self-respect here! We make no apologies for having, shall we say, ‘unique’ ways of teaching.

Remember – you chose us!

Students can look forward to making many close, new friends. We do have a tight-knit family atmosphere. We have helped students move (more than I care to remember), offered shoulders to cry on, meals and more to students who were down on their luck.

Hopefully, this makes up for the loss of friends we seem to face. Once you step on this path, once you start a discipline of study, class, sabbat, and other functions, suddenly your old friends seem much less interesting. I’m sure, to be fair, I seem less interesting to my old friends, too. And they all kind of drift off.

Married folks need to make sure not to neglect their spouses – the amount of time spent away from home (with us) sometimes makes the cowan spouse jealous. That is a very thin rope to walk.

Students can expect straight answers – we never lie to the student. If an instructor doesn’t know the answer, the student will not be baffled with bullshit. The instructor will to the utmost to find the answer or admit we don’t have one.

Students can expect a class every week that will challenge them mentally and magically. We give spells for all subjects: money, love, protection, reversing, success, etc. Everything a body needs to make life better!

Instructors will take the time to clear up all misconceptions the students may have. We love questions – it shows brain activity.

The Temple teachings ‘fill in the blanks’ of the craft – we try to do everything as magically correct as possible. While many of our beliefs/techniques do not match other authors, one can easily see why we do things.

For example: we call our quarters before drawing the circle. In most (if not all) books, a protective, sealed circle is drawn. All inside are now safe from all harm, physical to spiritual – even from the cold. And then, with a bold, graceful move, the person calling the quarters sticks his/her athame right through this magical shield, poking four nice big holes in it!

Students can expect to be given responsibilities and to be held accountable.

They will be given various parts of our rituals: short spoken lines, quarters to call and dismiss, and most importantly, they can be expected to lead the Temple in one of our Sabbats.

Our Sabbat rings are always done by students. We start them with small parts, build up their confidence with larger roles, till they are fully versed in ritual, and then are tasked with being High Priest or Priestess.

Women can look forward to these leadership roles that they are generally excluded from in other religions.

Men can look forward to a priesthood that is not emasculating or unnatural (i.e. celibate).

Male and female work together, side by side, in class, and at Sabbats.

Polarity rules!
